Rook Advisors Receives Community Service Award

Rook Advisors, a business and information technology consulting firm has received the 2020 Community Service Award from the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails.

Melissa Bruney, Chief Operating Officer, said, "[Rook Advisors] partnership with Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails, our girls, our volunteers, and our Girl Scout troops is admired and deserves recognition.". 

"The current pandemic has been difficult for most nonprofits, but the timing and effects were incredibly difficult for the Girl Scouts. COVID-19 landed on US shores during cookie sales season, the primary fundraiser for them," says Joel Long, CEO at Rook Advisors. "Then they had to cancel their golf tournament fundraiser. When we saw they were doing the 'Build it Brigade' fundraiser, we knew we had to participate."

Rook Advisors places a high value on giving back and working with the local community. To increase impact, Rook Advisors implores other businesses to join them in supporting this and other great causes.

At Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails, our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place requires hard work, dedication and passion for the future of New Mexico. The team at Rook Advisors shares these values and delivers excellent service to ensure our team is successful. 

This has been a challenging year and everything we do has had to evolve to be reflective of the times. This has meant switching to online platforms, using new software and technology, and keeping all of our staff updated and working effectively. Rook Advisors has been such a valuable ally to have, now more than ever. 

While we love their professionalism and competence, one of our favorite things about Rook Advisors is their commitment to our community. They were key players in making our fundraiser, Enchanted Evening, Celebrate Women in STEM a success, and have bravely and generously jumped in to participate in our current fundraiser, the Build it Brigade Challenge. This generosity allows us to continue our important work of teaching girls to empower themselves.

Rook Advisors does everything with twice the heart, and it was our distinct pleasure to recognize them with a Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails’ Community Service Award. We cannot thank them enough for supporting the girls of New Mexico.
